Final Film

Prelim

Evaluation

Overview of our Final Film

Overall this has been a good challenging year to take on the project of making our own movie opening. I have enjoyed this course and have learnt a lot about knowledge productions and the making of movies. I am really happy that I've been able to learn new skills such as camera shots, camera angles, editing and creating music on Garage-band. Overall we are really happy with the results of our movie opening.

Feedback

In todays lesson we looked through the feedback sheets given out at our media premiere. The results were really positive and people commented on:

-The effects of the fire
-The fitting music
-Use of credits
-Lighting
-Variety of camera shots/angles
-Change between tenses
-Flashbacks
-Young and old contrast
-The candle

Film Name Ideas

In Fridays lesson Alice and I brainstormed some ideas about what our movie could be called.
 The ideas were:

-Blaze.
-Ignite.
-Burn in Peace.

Filming

Last Friday Alice and I went to a graveyard to film some more shots for our movie opening. We have imported all the videos and included them in our movie but we have realised that we may need some more footage, so tomorrow we will be filming again.

The Rite

On Thursday evening we went to the cinema to see 'The Rite' directed by Mikael Hafstrom and written by Matt Baglio. I'm really bad with scary movies, but I think this movie was beyond my limit, so I found this movie really intense and I'll admit that I kept jumping out of my seat(which made everyone around me jump too). Although I'm not a big fan of scary movies, I thought this movie has some good editing features, such as the camera angles, the lighting and the sound. I will yet again say that I will not VOLUNTARILY see a scary movie again.

First Draft of Film

We have made our first draft! Last night i went to Alice's house to film and we used Alice's Dad's barbeque/fire pit and white spirit to make the falmes big and effective (Thank you Alice's Dad!). This is only a very rough first draft and we may need to get some more shots.

Day of Filming

We did our filimg on Sunday with Marge at Forty Hall. Unfortunately the Forty Hall House was boarded up so we couldn't get the house in our movie opening. We liked the idea of having a reporter in our movie, so we stuck to the idea. Alice was the reporter asking Marge different questions as she spoke about her experience in the War and her experience in Showbusiness! It was a very cold and windy day so we didn't stay there for too long but luckily we got all the footage we needed!

Io Non Ho Paura (I'm Not Scared)

I'm not scared is a movie set in Southern Italy in 1978 during the the hottest summer of the century. The story is based on a nine year old boy, Michele Amitrano who finds a boy hidden in a hole which he believes is dead. Michele later returns to the hole to find that the boy, Filippo Carducci is not dead and learns that he has been kidnapped and finds himself in a tough situation.

I watched this movie last night and I really enjoyed it! I'm reading the book at the moment too and I think they are both fantastic! It's definitely a must-see movie! I'm not going to go into too much detail about the story line, but I will point out that I really liked the opening to this movie....

Final movie plan

It's set! Next weekend we are filming Marge and we have agreed that Marge will talk about one of her real life experiences! Marge has had a lot of experience with performing arts and is willing to talk about it. Depending on the footage that we get from Marge, we have not yet decided if we are going to use flashbacks as they may not be necessarily needed in our film opening.

Filming practice

Today Alice and I went to Forty Hall to practice for our filming day next week. We found many areas in the woods where we could do the flashback scenes. We took a few shots to show what we could use and how the shots would look.

Paul Trailer

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie when it comes out in the cinema, it looks funny and interesting!

New movie opening idea.

We have finalised our new movie opening idea! We are planning to stick with the diea of having an elderly woman in the movie and using flashback effects. We have also decided that we want to make our movie a mockumentary do there will be a reporter in the movie asking the elderly woman about something that is related to her past.

New movie opening ideas.

In our new movie opening we are planning to use flashbacks, because we wanted to start the story off by showing things from the past. We have been researching different effects that we can use to show flashbacks.
